The innovative
CCM (Compact Condenser Microphone) from Schoeps is a very small yet fully
professional microphone. It is a major step forward in the miniaturization
of classic condenser microphone technology. The familiar CMC microphone
amplifier is eliminated in applications where there is no need to interchange
capsules, thus minimizing the risk of mechanical damage. In place of the
KC- active cable, the CCM has an XLR plug which connects directly to any
12-48 Volt phantom-powered input. Its sturdy cable is attached either
permanently or with a quick-disconnect Lemo plug.
Although the CCM
is only the size of a Colette Series capsule with an active cable, it
has the same audio circuitry and performance as a complete CMC + MK Colette
microphone. However, it goes beyond the limits of present active-cable
technology, as its balanced, low-impedance output guarantees a very high
immunity to interference, even with cable runs of several hundred meters.
All other specifications are the same, the polar and frequency response
plots of the CCM Series are identical to those of the corresponding MK-
capsules of the Colette Series.
The CCM mirrors all the well-known capsule varieties of the Colette Series, except for the MK 5, MK 6, BLM 3 and the BLM 03 C. The type designation is formed by adding
the corresponding capsule designation. For example: "CCM 2 S" = CCM 2
S omni capsule characteristic.
A miniature swivel
stand coupler (SGC) is included. Most of the windscreens and miniature
accessories of the Colette Series can also be used with the CCM Series.

Please note: Compact Condenser
Microphones are available in two styles, the CCM-L and the CCM-U. The
CCM-L has a quick-disconnect Lemo connector at the head of its cable,
terminated by an XLR-3M at the other end. The CCM-U also terminates
in an XLR 3M connector, but is hardwired to its cable.
All models listed below are
CCM-Ls. CCM-Us are available for the same price.
